The working meeting on drafting group standards for rubber hoses and tapes was held in Chongqing

     On April 9-12, the Rubber Pipe and Tape Branch of China Rubber Association held a group standard preparation meeting for rubber pipe and tape in Chongqing. Some experts from the expert group and members of each preparation group of the rubber pipe and tape branch attended the meeting, and Li Hong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Rubber Industry Association and Secretary General of the rubber pipe and tape branch, attended the meeting.

Shen Huimin, the expert group leader of the Rubber Tube and Tape Branch and the general manager of Zhejiang Shuangjian Rubber Co., Ltd., presided over the group standard preparation work meeting. The meeting reviewed four group standards for rubber hoses and tapes, and discussed the initiation work of group standards approved before 2023. Zhang Yuxun, the Technical and Standards Director of the Rubber Tube and Tape Branch, has deployed the work ideas for the "carbon footprint" of rubber tube and tape products and the planning for the compilation of a green raw material manual for the rubber tube and tape industry. Specifically, as follows:

1、 Reviewed and revised the draft of four group standards approved for 2023

The leader units of the standard preparation group submitted draft and preparation instructions for four standards, namely "Heat resistant steel wire rope core conveyor belt", "Determination of adhesion force between vulcanized rubber and steel wire ropes for conveyor belts", "Straight warp and weft fabric core rubber conveyor belt", and "Motor vehicle hydraulic brake hose assembly", to the attendees. After careful discussion by the attendees, the technical indicators, test methods, reference documents, and other details of the four group standards were modified and supplemented. After the meeting, the leader units of each preparation group further revised and improved them, and the revised text was submitted to the branch secretariat by the end of June.

2、 The study discussed group standards for projects initiated before 2023

The drafting unit responsible for drafting group standards established before 2023, such as "Heat resistant Oil Hydraulic Hoses and hose assemblies", "Clean Production Evaluation Index System for Conveyor Belt Industry", "Technical Specification for Green Design Product Evaluation of Conveyor Belt", and "Requirements for Length Specification of Agricultural Machinery V-belt", provided detailed explanations on the background, purpose, and writing ideas of the standards. Participants discussed and proposed supplementary opinions. By the end of June, the drafting group leader unit completed the standard draft and preparation instructions based on the revision items proposed at the meeting and submitted them to the branch secretariat.

3、 Proposed the application work for new project group standards in 2024

The meeting proposed the project proposal for the 2024 group standard, encouraging enterprises to develop basic universal and low-carbon technology standards related to carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the rubber hose and tape industry. At the same time, it can closely meet the actual needs of national, industry, and enterprise technological innovation and development, and fill the gap in national and industry standards for standard projects. Enterprises interested in applying for group standards can submit their project application to the branch secretariat before September 10th.

4、 Deployed the development of carbon footprint and industry green raw material manuals for rubber hose and tape products

The meeting made arrangements for the work ideas of "carbon footprint" of rubber hose and tape products and the planning of writing a green raw material manual for the rubber hose and tape industry. The meeting unanimously agreed that the development of the "carbon footprint" and green raw material manual for rubber hose and tape products is of great significance for enterprises to achieve goals such as carbon reduction and emission reduction, transformation and upgrading, and green development.
